Some fairly ragged bowling and fielding combined with some hard hitting from Craig Stares (75) saw Gosport rattle up 159 for 2. Sean Figgins, Tom Jones and Ben Jones were the wicket-takers.
Purbook batted quite well in reply but the total was too large. Sean Figgins (21), Ben Thomas (13), Tom Jones (14) and Peter Middleton (16no) all contributing to the eventful 119 for 9.
There were four run-outs, three of which involved Peter Middleton. He was more sinned against than sinning, but I gather that he will be living under an assumed name in Rio until he can clear his name.
Peter Mill was again run out whilst abusing the crowd. There seem to be two solutions to this problem. The audience could enter into the true pantomime spirit and shout "Look out! Behind you!" at the appropriate moments. Alternatively, he could just concentrate.
