The under-11`s have made the rest of the league sit up and take notice with their latest victory against Portsmouth at Farlington on July the 20th.
Put in on a low scoring pitch, the Purbrook batsmen battled to 237 with contributions from Jack May(7), Alex Thakore(6) and Chris Harrison(5).
Portsmouth started strongly, racing to within touching distance of Purbrook`s score, but with some brilliant bowling from Chris Harrison and Josh Thomas, both with wicket maidens, Portsmouth were stopped in their tracks. They needed 8 from the last over to win, but Jack May bowled tightly, grabbing a wicket for 2 runs, reducing Portsmouth to 227. A Purbrook win by 10 runs which pushes Purbrook into the top four and mounting a real challenge for honours.
