Put in by the Hambledon skipper Toby De Mellow, Purbrook started slowly, but when Mike Russell(14) and Jack May(6) came to the crease Purbrook piled on the runs reaching 262 backed by fine knocks by Alex Thakore(11) and Chris Harrison(11).
Hambledon scored steadily and were above the required run rate for the first ten overs, but with 2 wickets each for Craig Marsh, Khalid Alsafi, Josh Thomas and skipper Jack May and backed by some fine fielding, Purbrook regained the initiative running out winners by 20 runs.
