On Sunday, Purbrook were at home to Lymington in the Cross-Solent League.
Having won the toss and deciding to bat, Lymington got off to a reasonable
start and were 31-2 after 9 overs. Then some tight bowling from Jimmy
Repsold, who finished with 1-21 from his 8 overs and some inspired bowling
from Mike Burrows, who ended with 6-38 from 8 overs, rather put the cat
amongst their pigeons. Although they kept up a reasonable run-rate, wickets
kept falling and they were all out for 131 in the 31st over.
Purbrook took 4 balls more , with the loss of 6 wickets to make the required
runs. Alan Hellyer made a patient 33, James Iles a pretty quickfire 31,
supported by Tom Pasterfield (15) and Ian Hunter(21)
