The Sunday 1st XI entertained Calmore in a Cross-Solent League
game, in which the two most nervous people were probably the scorers, as the
previous two encounters between these teams inthis competition had both
ended in ties, which are not good for scorers' blood pressure!
Alan Mengham lost the toss (there's a surprise!) and Calmore chose to bat
first.A good all-round bowling performance from purbrook limited them to 131
all out.
In reply, Purbrook jogged along at a lively pace, reaching their target in
the 30th over. Top- scorer was Graham McCoy, with 39.
