Middleton joined Thomas and after last weeks run out in the first over, Middleton was on fire, a lofted drive over the bowler nearly going for 6 was the highlight of his innings, just 24 balls and he retired on 26. Next man Haran partnered Thomas and both lads eased the runs along, with 26 runs Thomas retired. Slugger Bennett strolled out to the crease had a look round at the fielding positions and his first ball is fired straight to the boundary. Nothing like getting your eye in early! 9 balls and 12 runs and Bennett was bowled going for the big one, 94 for 2 off 16. In went 6th man Budd, had a chat with Haran about the wicket. 4 balls later after being run out he had another chat with Haran, possibly not about the wicket though, 109 for 3 off 18. 7th man Butler put on 2 as Haran retired on 28 off 32 balls.
