Purbrook Cruise To Victory Over Havant

Havant v Purbrook

The Havant openers looked comfortable at the crease, but the tight bowling and commited fielding of Purbrook kept the run rate down for the home side. Dinambro retires on 25 just before his opening partner is stumped for the first wicket, 54 for 1 off 13 overs. Purbrook maintained the pressure, and took a wicket in overs 16,17,18 and 19. The Havant attack had been contained at 73 for 5 off 20 overs.

Having fielded and bowled well Purbrook were favourites to take this game. Middleton facing gets into his stride early, and took 7 runs from the first over. Second man Haran had a share of the runs and the opening pair put on 43 before Haran is caught at point in the 8th over. Third man Thomas added 2 runs before a hesitant run had him run out, 50 for 2 off 10 overs. Despite the loss of those two wickets, Purbrook looked comfortable. In came Jones and he was straight into the attack with a four. Colban came in for the retiring Middleton and picked up a quick 8 runs. Colban and Jones sealed the fate of Havant, and the game was won in the 12th over. Purbrook 74 for 2 off 12.4 overs.
