The worst news was that someone had seen fit to schedule all 3 Purbrook
teams at home on the same day, Saturday, July 7, which left the 2nd XI to
play at Hollybank against Liphook and Ripsley II.
Batting first, they struggled to 166-8, captain Roger Clarke top-scoring
with 37 n.o. With the weather closing in, Liphook and Ripsley launched a
full-scale attack on Purbrook's bowling, reaching their target with ease in
the 25th over!
